The Minnesota Economy in 2018: Are the Good Times Still Rolling? Understanding local, national and international influences affecting your manufacturing business
Back by popular demand, Professor King Banaian, Dean of the School of Public Affairs at St. Cloud State University and longtime economic forecaster is our speaker at the 2018 Gears & Gadgets Kick-off program. Manufacturing business owners and your Executive team – you’ll need to hear Professor Baniain’s economic forecast while you develop strategies, build budgets, launch new products, hire talent and identify market trends. As you make company-wide critical decisions, he’ll help you understand the local, national and international influences that matter to your plans.
The latest information from the budget-keepers for the state say Minnesota’s economy has slowed down, mirroring a slowdown in the national economy. Employment in manufacturing will flatten out by 2020, they say. Yet most national forecasters are upbeat, and national small business confidence has soared this fall at ever faster rates.
Who’s right? We’ll dig into the impact of the Tax Cut and Jobs Act of 2017. We’ll also look at expanding Minnesota manufacturing exports and the future path of international trade.
